FOR EXCHANGE

The network of southern German dance initiatives and artist associations, first structurally established in 2022 as a collaboration between Tanztendenz Munich and the Dance Center of the Nuremberg Region, and steadily growing since then, enters its fourth round this year (and we’re part of it)! With now six alliance partners across two federal states – Tanztendenz e.V., Dance Center of the Nuremberg Region e.V. and CONdance e.V. Bamberg in Bavaria, as well as EinTanzHaus e.V. and Schwindelfrei Festival in Mannheim, Tanznetz Freiburg gUG, and Production Center for Dance + Performance e.V. Stuttgart – the focus this year remains on the exchange and networking of the cooperating institutions, but above all on the artists working within them. In total, six 7- to 10-day residencies will be held in the six partner cities, enriching the local scenes with workshops, training sessions, and public showings, sharings, or lecture demonstrations. Furthermore, there will be a series of conferences and symposia where relevant topics of the (southern German) independent dance scene will be discussed, and knowledge will be shared and passed on within peer groups. To top it off, a networking event will be organized on November 22nd and 23rd in one of the partner cities, offering not only a daytime program with talks, discussion rounds, and educational opportunities, but also plenty of space for personal meetings and exchanges.
