Labormanifest
As a discursive and performative platform, the LABORMANIFEST opens up space for reflection, vision, further development, research and networking. It takes place once or twice a year in Freiburg at the SÜDUFER and varies in theme and focus. In different constellations, various dance artists from Freiburg design the format independently - with the courage to take risks and try new things.
As part of the LABORMANIFEST, the "Triangle Meeting" was created in 2020, a special edition of the LM# with a focus on networking in three-country triangle. The artistic residency format "Labor à trois" also emerged from this initiative.
LABORMANIFEST IS A FORMAT OF TANZNETZ FREIBURG IN COOPERATION WITH E-WERK FREIBURG WHICH HAS BEEN HELD ONCE OR TWICE A YEAR SINCE 2015. IT IS SUPPORTED BY THE STATE OF BADEN-WÜRTTEMBERG, GOVERNMENT PRESIDIUM OF FREIBURG.
Past
Two years of the Covid-19 pandemic have left their mark. After a long period of very uncertain production conditions and increasing solo and digital working methods, LM#13 was a call to reconnect, to research, to forge relationships and to create a "new togetherness". Under the title "Perspectives of touch", 30 dance artists met at Freiburg's SÜDUFER and addressed the questions: How can touch and our communication as individuals in the community inform us in order to lead us to different qualities of physicality? How can we create relationships based on physical presence and strengthen the sense of community through daily routines and gatherings?
Under the title "Boosting our Touring Knowledge", 20 freelance artists from Freiburg and other parts of Baden-Württemberg met for three days of intensive exchange at Freiburg's SÜDUFER and addressed the following questions: How can dance professionals find more opportunities to give their pieces greater visibility? How do they gain access to venues, festivals and art platforms outside their home cities? Experts such as Isa Köhler (Tanzmesse NRW), Caspar de Vries (Kulturunternehmer) and Mira Moschallski Norman & Tobias Steiner (Tanznetz Freiburg) discussed these questions with the dance professionals and shared their wealth of experience.

CARE ABOUT...!
PRACTICES OF CARE IN THE WORKING WORLD OF THE FREE DANCE SCENE
In LABORMANIFEST #15, the Freiburg independent dance scene met to research various care practices. The weekend of March 16 and 17 was free for artists of all disciplines. We were very happy to be able to welcome visitors from the independent dance and theatre scene, from the music scene and the visual arts. The week from Monday, March 18 to Saturday, March 23 a core group of dance artists worked in the morning on various aspects of care. In the afternoon, dance artists from the scene and guests from other cities offered a moving LAB each day, on the respective topic of the day. The LAB was open to everyone. The participants dealt with questions such as 'How can we integrate care principles into our organisational and dance work practices?', 'How does the dancing body relate to the family, regardless of whether it is a family of choice or an original family?' and 'How can choreographic processes be balanced between the needs of the I, the We and the It to create a healthy, mindful workspace?'
