The action theatre PAN.OPTIKUM is a collective that defines itself through productions in public space. This term includes virtual public space. Interdisciplinary, cross-genre projects form a main focus of the works and productions, and since the 2000s dance has taken centre stage in its own productions. The question of the social relevance of art and works in a cultural context leads to a wide understanding of projects. The representation of diversity in the ensemble and the participatory approach to working methods are seen as a contemporary form of expression for democratic societies. Audience development and mobility, the bringing together of people from different social and geographical backgrounds and international co-operation projects are among the core themes that occupy the international collective.
