Ensemble Nuage Fou
After running a Butoh theater in Freiburg for ten years, Lucie Betz founded the Nuage Fou ensemble in 2022, a group of "nomadic" international artists, mainly Butoh dancers and musicians, who carry out performance projects in specific locations. In-situ performance projects with improvisational elements based on the quality of Butoh. Above all, in a time of global change, it is about remembering what is deeply valuable and sacred in our being as human beings.
The Nuage Fou ensemble was invited to a unique festival in the Algerian Sahara desert at the end of 2022. In 2023, the ensemble, in a different constellation of artists, realized its creation UNDER THE STARS in the remarkable inner courtyard of the Herderbau in Freiburg. The ensemble has been supported several times by the Kulturamt Freiburg.
