Tanznetz Freiburg
Tanznetz Freiburg strengthens the independent professional dance scene in Freiburg and the region in the field of contemporary dance and performing arts. We are not only a network: we bundle the interests of artists and communicate them to other networks, venues, politics as well as the public. We stand up for fair working conditions, create space for exchange, further education and artistic research. We are mediators in order to inspire as many people as possible for the art of dance.
Why? Because dance moves and the artistic examination of the body is part of a self-determined society. We are committed to a diverse dance scene and dream of a diverse society - for cultural participation across borders.
OUR IDENTITY
We are many and act collectively whenever we can. We believe in dance, we believe in movement, and we resist penned-in structures in solidarity with other art forms. The independent dance scene is an integral part of Freiburg's vibrant urban culture. Diversity, sustainability and participation are our core values.
OUR VISION
We want to continue the success story of the last few years.
The aim is to increase further the professionalisation of dance artists and the quality of productions and to make them visible beyond the city and state borders. The already viable structure of Tanznetz Freiburg gUG is to be maintained in the long term and continually adapted to current needs.
To achieve this, dance in Freiburg must continue to be well supported in the future, not just for a few years, but continuously and sustainably. Why? Because dance moves people and the artistic exploration of the body is part of a self-determined society. We are committed to a diverse dance scene – to cultural participation across physical borders.
STRUCTURE
Tanznetz Freiburg gUG is the further development of the project "Cooperative Dance Development Concept Freiburg", funded by TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund and running from 2018 to July 2021. The legal form of the non-profit entrepreneurial company (haftungsbeschränkt) functions since January 2023 with a new office in Poststraße 3. The aim is to further increase the professionalization of dance creators and the quality of productions and to make them visible beyond the city and state borders. The aim is to create a sustainable, viable structure for independent contemporary dance in Freiburg and the region.
The shareholders of Tanznetz Freiburg gUG are bewegungs-art freiburg e.v. and E-WERK Freiburg e.V.
